Independence Day 2018
DBCLM had the Independence Day celebration jointly organized by the Past Pupils
and RBC on August 15, 2018. Fr Sony Mathew, Director of Chithra was the chief
guest of the programme. By 8 ‘O’ clock in the morning students and staff assembled
together in the ground for the flag hoisting. Fr Sony, the chief guest of the day
hoisted flag.
After the flag hoisting and breakfast there was also a gathering in which children put
up different programmes. Other than the staff and children fathers and a number of
past pupils also were present. A newly formed youth group named Kanasu under the
leadership of Ash A, an MSW student and a past of pupil of DBCLM actively took
part in the event and conducted some party games for the children gathered. The
crowd was pleasantly surprised to welcome Mr Shaji Mathew, Superintendent of
RPF, Davangere who made an unannounced visit and distributed some sweets.
Those children who were celebrating their birthday in August were invited to cut the
cake and the whole gathering wished them a long prosperous life.
