Entrepreneurship Training for Self-Help Group Members


Don Bosco Child Labour Mission, Davangere organized an entrepreneurship training programme at centre for four days under the leadership of Manjula V, the Coordinator. 51 women from 10 different Self Help Groups run by DBCLM participated in it. Mr NT Yariswamy, Lead District Divisional Manager, Davangere, Mr Prasannakumar, Programme Manager, Municipal Corporation of Davangere, Mr Shivakumar, Asst Coordinator of Poverty Elimination Cell, Municipal Corporation of Davangere were the resource persons.

The participants had the opportunity of attending input sessions and group activities as part of this training. Learned and well informed resource persons dealt with topic like entrepreneurship skills, micro business, micro income generation activities, management of small scale business, linking with other institutions, linking with banks for financial support, etc. There were also lighter topics like leadership, conflict management, collective decision making, common fund management, etc. for the smooth functioning of the self-help groups. At the end of the whole programme the participants felt that they are sufficiently informed and equipped to try their hand at turning their small group into a group that can stand by itself.
