Don Bosco Charitable Society, Davangere. Women Empowerment Project. (WEP). Gender Equality training for College students.
DBCLM conducted a two day training program for college students at Shree Manjunatha PU College in Davangere on 30th October, 2017 which was organized as part of the Women Empowerment Project. Attended by more than 68 children- the program started by lighting of the lamp, felicitation and welcome address by Mr.M.B. Rudrappa Principal of Shri D.Manjunath PU College. Mr. Purusushottam Lecturer of the college and Mr.Umapathi Lecturer of the college was the guest of the day. Mr. Manjappa.B Cream Project Coordinator and Mrs. Jyothi, ChildLine Team member, was the resource person for the programme.

  • Mr. Manjappa.B, CREAM Project Coordinator addressed the gathering on issues like Gender Equality, women rights, Legal rights of women in India, sex ratio of the country at present. The Directive principles of state policy inspire the state to work for the common good of the people and to establish social and economic democracy in the country
  • The next session, held by Mrs. Jyothi, team member of ChildLine was about POSCO Act, Fundamental Rights and Fundamental duties and child rights
  • The next session presented by Mr. Harshadali, Team member of ChildLine. Was about who vulnerable children are, how to protect them using ChildLine, through Child welfare committee(CWC), Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and District Child protection unit (DCPU), Child help line like 1098 and woman help line like 1092 and other Government mechanisms for protection of children and woman.
